Projects Introduction A non-communicable disease is an illness caused by something other than a pathogen. These diseases often result from poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking, hereditary factors, and other unforeseen problems. Heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancers, and asthma are all examples of non-communicable disease.
Task You and your partner will be creating a specific presentation in Keynote on a non-communicable disease of your choosing. Think of something that may have effected your friends, family, or loved ones; or something you are just interested in learning more about. Each lesson must contain a 5-10 minute Keynote presentation and an assignment/activity/game for the class to support your lesson.
Process
Select a non-communicable disease (make sure there is enough info about the disease)
Using the iPad, Safari, and Keynote: Research your disease for the following:
Explanation of the disease
How does a person become infected or develop the disease?
What are the symptoms? How long before they appear?
How is a person "officially' diagnosed with the disease?
What are the treatment options?
What risk factors increase your chance of getting this disease?
Organize your teams research into a Keynote address that you will deliver to the class
Create an activity/assignment/game for the class to support your lesson
